Chuck Thompson - Book Talk Podcast - March 2008
This week's podcast is a doozy. Travel writer Chuck Thompson and Stephen Usery spoke for almost 50 minutes about Chuck's book Smile When You are Lying: Confessions of a Rogue Travel Writer. Bonus material in the podcast versus the broadcast include Chuck's takes on Graceland and The Bell of Anzio, as well as his experience at the Anne Frank house. Don't be fooled by Stephen's wrap-up at 38 minutes, the goodness keeps going! Click here for the interview.

Book Talk's First Podcast! Deborah Johnson
Click here to go to our download page to get the very first podcast of Book Talk with Deborah Johnson about her book The Air Between Us. Now, the podcast will sound a little different from the versions you hear on WYPL. First of all, on the podcast, you will hear the full interview. Not a single question will be edited out. So most interviews will last longer than the normal 29 minutes. Also, due to licensing issues, you won't hear our usual music.
We will post the podcast during the week following the intial broadcast, so check back every week for a new Book Talk!
Another exciting aspect of the new podcasts are that we will be licensing them under the Creative Commons license. Which essentially means that you are free to copy and share our podcasts as long as you don't sell them or alter them, and please give use credit and a link back to our blog. If you have any questions about this, please email us at wyplfm@gmail.com.

Book Talk Contact Information
Since its debut in 1993, Book Talk hosts have interviewed hundreds of authors in the studios of FM89.3 WYPL Memphis. We are only set up to do in-person interviews at the present, so if an author will be in the mid-south area (Memphis or Jackson in Tennessee, Oxford in Mississppi, or Blytheville, Arkansas are typical promotional stops.) and would like to be considered for Book Talk, please forward two copies of the book and a press kit to:
Book Talk
Producer-Stephen Usery
FM89.3 WYPL
3030 Poplar Avenue
Memphis, TN 38111
Please contact us as early as possible when trying to set up an interview. We usually only conduct five interviews per month, and the spots fill up fast.
Please note: Self-published, print-on-demand, or vanity press submissions will not be considered. There are over 200 author appearances in the Mid-South each year, and we are limited to 54 interviews. We're sorry that we can't interview everyone.
